I went to a bit of fen that was cleared of scrub last year, and the extra light along the ditch edge has resulted in Tufted Sedges flourishing.

The greyish leaves started coming through a few weeks ago, growing up in dense tufts, hence the common name. They have just come into flower, a couple of weeks ahead of most of the other wetland sedges in the Broads, making them very easy to spot at the moment.
