ARCHAEOPHYTE, AXIOPHYTE
Loose Silky-bent is an annual of open habitats, mostly in arable fields, where it can be a troublesome weed, but also in a wide variety of waste places, including sandy tracks and roadsides (D. A. Pearman in Preston et al, 2002)
In Norfolk, Loose Silky-bent occurs primarily on arable land in the Brecks and the Fens. A few widely scattered occurrences elsewhere, including those in vc 27, may just be casuals.
